Fe0.925O

third-order Birch-Murnaghan · Original · 2000

Why this differs from similar rows?

K0 derived using (111)+(200)+(220) reflections combined for volume; differs from sibling row's (200)-only approach due to anisotropic broadening from non-hydrostatic conditions.

Evidence from the paper

The volume of Fe0.925O was calculated by two approaches; by using the (200) reflection alone, and by using the (111), (200) and (220) reflections. The two approaches gave different values for the bulk modulus, K0 = 150 ± 10 GPa and K0 = 167 ± 10 GPa, respectively. This discrepancy is due to anisotropic broadening of the diffractograms probably due to slightly non-hydrostatic pressure conditions in the diamond anvil cell.
