Fe0.93O

third-order Birch-Murnaghan · Original · 2005

Why this differs from similar rows?

Rhombohedral-phase fit made directly at a 1 atm reference pressure over 23-51 GPa with K' fixed to 4.0; authors state this is their 'best estimate' for this phase.

Evidence from the paper

The P-V data were then fitted using an ambient reference pressure of 1 atm (but without the calculated V0) using fixed K' = 4.0, resulting in V0 = 59.72 (±0.22) Å3 and K0 = 134 (±4) GPa... we conclude that a best estimate for the bulk modulus of rhombohedral Fe0.93O is 134 (±4) GPa, assuming K' = 4. Table 2: Rhomb Fe0.93O, P range 23–51, V0 59.72 (±0.22)†, K0 134 (±4)†, K' 4.0 (fixed).
